"Blue Sea Village Mer Bleue” will become the template for up to 30 similar communities in North America. The village centerpiece is a state-of-the-art $25+ million dollar international sports facility that will see more than 1.3 million visitors a year.

The original BlackSheep design for a 14-acre site in East Ottawa has grown to a proposed plan of almost 40 acres in less than six months due to incredible demand from investors and tenants.

BlackSheep Developments is still working with the City of Ottawa to attain necessary approvals for the expanded vision from 14 (approved) to almost 40 acres.

The village will feature everything from health food/products to healthy activities -- for both the mind and body.  Community members and visitors will be able to have a variety of services in one pedestrian community, including European style streets and innovative technology, with easy access to rapid transit, bike paths, walking trails and a new  Orléans Health Hub (Montfort), coming soon.

The additional benefit of aiming for such high environmental standards is that the project will be registering for incentive programs such as the Enbridge Savings By Design, Hydro’s High Performance New Construction and perhaps a CMHC Innovation incentive if the residential component is included.

Outdoor spaces will also need to be considered with LEED principals as a guide. For example, BlackSheep Developments would be looking to have swales in the parking lot to reduce storm water demand.
